Janaagraha, under its Jaagte Raho! Campaign, has been involved in advocacy efforts with the Election Commission of India (ECI) to reform the electoral systems in our country. The Bengaluru Electoral Systems Transformation (BEST) project is a consequence of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Election Commission of India (ECI) and Janaagraha.

Objectives of BEST

1. Achieve 100% accuracy in the voter list
2.
Maintain a clean voter list on an on-going basis

The ECI has chosen Shanthi Nagar to be the model assembly constituency where B.E.S.T will be piloted. You play a pivotal role by participating in the voter registration process or better still, by becoming an Area Voter Mitra (AVM)!

What does an AVM do?

An Area Voter Mitra (AVM) is a booth level volunteer as recognised by the ECI. As an AVM you will be the champion of grassroots democracy.

You will

  1. Be the guide in your area on voter registration
  2. Help maintain a clean voter list

How can I become an AVM?
